Specification:
Furnish and install hard plastic base roof vent flashing with adjustable, multi-size elastomer collar. Unit shall be Water-Tite item number checked below as manufactured by IPS Corporation, as per corresponding dimensional characteristics, or equivalent. (Do not use Petroleum based mastics, sealing compounds, or paints on collar portion of all flashings, on all hard base, flexible , or rain collars.)
12″ x 16″ Base for 1-1/4″–1-1/2″, 2″, 3″, 4″ Vent Pipe
1. Select appropriate size flashing for each vent pipe through roof. Seal the underside of the flashing as shown below.
2. Install flexible collar* over pipe.
3. Push down until base lies flush on rooftop.
4. Nail flashing only where future courses of shingles will cover.
5. Shingle around the bubble of the flashing (cutting where necessary so all shingles are flat on the roof). The shingles should be installed at least halfway down the flashing base so there are no exposed nail heads.
